Rutherford County Election Commission Administrator Alan Farley to Speak

Join us as Rutherford County Election Commission Administrator Alan Farley discusses both the recent election and the upcoming one. This meeting will be virtual, and the public is invited.

In addition to sharing information about the elections, Farley also plans to address League questions about

  • the security of voter registration data,

  • the impact of transitioning to the “vote anywhere” vote centers,

  • voting machine and absentee ballot security and counting, and

  • how and when voters are eliminated from the rolls.

About Alan Farley

Farley is responsible for overseeing all elections in Rutherford County and managing the day to day operations of the Election Commission staff. As Administrator he led the innovative change that allowed Rutherford County to be the first county in Tennessee to establish convenient vote centers on Election Day in 2018. Any voter can vote anywhere in the county on Election Day.

Farley has served as an election advisor to graduate students of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. He was one of two election professionals in the state selected to take part in a bipartisan initiative on cyber-security called Defending Digital Democracy Project.
