January Meeting: Felon Disfranchisement with Dr. Pippa Holloway

Over 6 million Americans cannot vote in America due to a felony conviction. In 11 states, including Tennessee, convicted felons cannot vote while in prison, on parole or probation, or post-sentencing. Tennessee also has one of the highest rates of felon disenfranchisement, and the path to restoration of voting rights is expensive and complicated.

Join us to learn about the implications of felon disfranchisement on voting patterns and our fellow Tennesseans’ voices at the ballot box. Our guest speaker, Dr. Pippa Holloway, will help us consider the history and justice behind felon disfranchisement , and how this connects to other forms of disfranchisement.
