Student Mental Health and Wellness: A Local Perspective

  • Heritage Center 225 West College Street Murfreesboro, TN, 37130 United States (map)

Join us in our continued exploration of local education and mental health issues as representatives from Rutherford County and Murfreesboro City Schools discuss the non-academic services they provide to treat and maintain student mental health and wellness.

About our speakers

Amy Baltimore, EdS, NCC, is currently serving in Rutherford County Schools as the Elementary School Counseling Supervisor. She has been a long time member of the Tennessee School Counseling Association (TSCA) and serves as a board member for TSCA and as the Director of Legislation and Public Policy for the TSCA Advocacy Committee. She is in her second year of advising at the state level, serving as a member of the Department of Ed School Counseling Advisory Board.

Amy’s passion for School Counseling stems from experience she had as a teenager living in Eastern Europe and serving alongside a foundation whose sole purpose was to be a part of the healing process for children orphaned during the oppression of communism. After returning to the states for college her desire to continue that work led her to the public school system where she purposefully advocates for students by actively supporting the implementation of trauma-informed practices and multi-tiered systems of support.
